Maya Hu-Chan is a globally recognized speaker, author, leadership consultant, and ICF Master Certified Coach. She specializes in global leadership, cross-cultural management, and diversity and inclusion.

Harvard Business School chose her book, Global Leadership: The Next Generation, to be their Working Knowledge book. She is a columnist for Inc.com. Her most recent book, Saving Face: How to Preserve Dignity and Build Trust (Berrett-Koehler 2020), is #1 Amazon Best Seller. This book explores the nuances of working with people across cultures and diverse backgrounds through the universal concepts of saving, losing, and honoring “face.”
Prior to her consulting career, Maya was an anchor for the China Broadcasting Company in Taiwan and the CEO of a non-profit organization in California. Maya is the founder of Global Leadership Associates and has served as its president since 1992.
Born and raised in Taiwan, Maya is fluent in Chinese and English. She earned her M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, and B.A. from National Chengchi University in Taiwan.
Maya lives in San Diego, California, with her husband and their triplets. She enjoys yoga, hiking, and traveling.
